Our group went to the north end of the lake at Buck Creek State Park in
Clark County this morning. The water flowing into the lake from Buck Creek
has provided one of the few places around with open water. The viewing is
also pretty close compared to when the entire lake is open. We saw 24 Tundra
Swans, one Mute Swan, two Greater White-fronted Geese, and about 15 species
of ducks. There were no unusual species but we got good looks at all of them
through scopes. The Green-winged Teal x Gadwall was also there. This bird
has apparently remained in the area since we first found it at Old Reid Park
on December 1, 2013.
