I lived dangerously by hiking slippery Highbanks MetroParks trails yesterday. With the snow stomped into an icy mass by the recent Winter Hike hordes, the rolling trails of this MetroPark north of Columbus presented a whole new host of hazards. Bird life was sparse, but included 2 Pileated Woodpeckers, several Brown Creepers, 3 Yellow-rumped Warblers, and a Hermit Thrush along the trails, and 6-8 Tree sparrows among the more common birds at the Nature Center feeders. A Red-breasted Nuthatch has been reported from the park, but I couldn't relocate it.
