Two small flooded areas along Walnut Creek in & near Walnut Woods Metro
Park (one on Lithopolis Rd., one on Richardson Rd.) hosted a nice diversity
of ducks this afternoon. All species were in small numbers (<100), but a
good collection nonetheless.
Present were: Wood Duck, Mallard, Am. Black Duck, Gadwall, Green-winged
Teal, N. Pintail, Canvasback, Redhead, Ring-necked Duck, Bufflehead, &
Hooded Merganser.
A bit of open water at Stage's Pond SNP and a nearby flooded field held
Hooded Merganser, Common Goldeneye, Northern Shoveler, Am. Wigeon, and
others.
Happy Spring!
