While its nice to see so many people visiting Deer Creek to see the spillway ducks, it's disheartening to see the sparrows being ignored in the north. ODNR's millet plantings continue to be an awesome spectacle. Clouds of American Tree Sparrows in the thousands are still present with many Song and White-crowned Sparrows as well. Other species such as Savannah and Swamp, and who knows what else are also mixed in. The best area is between D-51 and D-52 and 4-wheel drive is necessary for those roads right now, but a smaller similar area can be found north of the reservoir along D-58 which is probably passable in a sedan. Also in the south, Short-eared Owls are still present in the southern grasslands.
