I spent this cold, slick morning around the western edge of Dublin, a NW Columbus suburb. I stopped at Avery Park, parts of Glacier Ridge MetroPark, Darree Fields Park and the vicinity. The cold, icy conditions made walking occasionally difficult, and seemed to suppress landbird numbers. The Honda wetland was frozen over, but Lake Corazon (further north along Hyland-Croy Rd) was partly open and had accumulated a nice flock of mixed diving ducks. Notables for the morning included:

Canada Geese - flocks were flying over to the west all morning; eventually, I started to run into these flocks in field stubble, with 600 along Cosgray Rd and over 2500 along Houchard Rd. Couldn't find any unusual geese with them, though.

Divers - Lake Corazon had 120 Ring-necked Ducks, 90 Redhead, and 8 Canvasback. It's rapidly become one of the best spots around Columbus to find diving ducks.

Raptors - not much, though the north end of Glacier Ridge had a pair of Red-tails and 1 Kestrel

Woodpeckers - Red-bellies & Downies at most stops. The woods NW of the Glacier Ridge parking area had a Pileated, and Flickers were at Darree Fields

E.Bluebirds - small groups were at Avery Park (at poison ivy berries) and Glacier Ridge (around the feeder)

Yellow-rumped Warblers - 1-2 were at most woodlots, usually near poison ivy berries

Tree Sparrows - small flocks of 10-12 were at Glacier Ridge and at Darree Fields

Other Sparrows - not much here, with only a few Songs & White-throateds, even at Glacier Ridge & the Honda wetlands.
