A big thanks to Jeff Harvey for posting his question about reporting sightings. It reminded me that I had not followed my usual order of reporting sightings. As this listserve has been around the longest, I (almost) always report a bird here first, then to the FB Rare Bird Alert and then to the FB Birding Ohio Group. Yesterday I reported the still remaining Spotted Towhee in Shreve to only one of the three. I am very sorry. I promise to be better, but it does take time especially when posting from my phone. (I know - I need to learn how to cut and paste on my phone.)

I also understand Jeff's great frustration with all of the notification possibilities. It probably won't get any better. I don't know the answer - I doubt if there is one!

I have yet another way to find out about rare birds! How many of you have ever called the Bobolink hotline (330-763-5119)? That is how we knew that the Spotted Towhee was still present in Shreve as well as 2 different locations for Harris's Sparrow. Robert Hershberger of Time & Optics does a great job of updating this hotline at least once a week.

Good birding to all! Spring has to be on its way!!
