We visited Pickering Ponds on Saturday, 3-15 and found three Fox Sparrows (one sang), three White-crowned Sparrows (one of these sang as well), and saw four Tree Swallows over one of the ponds.  (I imagine that someone with a scope will report on all the ducks with greater accuracy than we could manage)  The number of singing Song Sparrows was quite impressive, and perhaps the best songs of all were the large ensembles of Western Chorus Frogs accompanied by occasional Spring Peepers.  It does not sound like this in the NE corner of that state, but someday....
