Took the long way home this afternoon to check a few Dayton locations for
RN Grebe and other waterfowl. Highlights:
Carillon Park-
4 Red-necked Grebe (1 near I-75 Bridge, 3 closer to bell tower)
1 WW Scoter
Eastwood Metropark- a sliver of open water for the first time in weeks held
Redhead, Scaup, and Goldeneye.
Huffman Metropark-
6 Red-necked Grebe (5 near parking lot, 1 in SW corner of lake associating
loosely with raft of divers)
100 Redhead
Canvasback
Greater & Lesser Scaup
RN Duck
Common Merganser
Huffman Prairie Flying Field
100 Redhead
1 Greater Scaup
2 RN Duck
Good birding!
