I stopped at several access points along this reservoir north of Columbus looking for unusual waterfowl & early migrants. There was still a fair bit of surface ice, and the wind pushed it against the eastern shore, so I stopped mostly at western accesses: the dam, the beach & Visitors Center, Hollenback Marina, Cheshire causeway, & Berlin Station access, as well as the Cheshire boat launch & SummerRidge accesses on the east shore. Waterfowl were spotty, with the only big flocks off the south side of the Cheshire causeway, where 500+ birds had accumulated. Gulls numbers were lower than expected; perhaps many of them had been drawn over to the fish kill on O'Shaughnessy reservoir. Notable birds included:

N.Pintail - a few flyovers
Green-winged Teal - 2 were at Berlin Station access
Gadwall - 6 were in the entrance pond at SummerRidge access
Canvasback - 20+ were mixed in with the flock off Cheshire causeway
Redheads - small numbers at most spots, but the Cheshire causway had 80-90.
Lesser Scaups - small flocks in many locations, but the flock along the Cheshire causeway numbers 400+
Ring-necked Ducks - small flocks in several locations
Bufflehead - only a few, with 3 at Berlin Station and 5 off the Cheshire causeway
Mergansers - Red-breasteds were most common, with small groups flying south most of the morning; Commons were also at several locations, as were Hoodeds

Turkey Vultures - 4 were around the dam, and singles were at most other stops
Cooper's Hawks - singles were hunting at the dam and in the forest north of the Visitor's Center
E.Phoebe - singles were at the Visitor's Center area and Berlin Station
Mockingbirds - singles were at the east end of the dam, as well as the Visitor's Center scrublands
Amer.Pipits - flyovers were at the east Dam and at the beach area
Tree Sparrows - small flocks were at many locations, often with birds singing
Field Sparrow - 1 was singing in the scrublands near the Visitor's Center, a spot where they will breed later.
Song Sparrows - small flocks in many locations, they seem to be on the move
Blacbirds - Redwings & Grackles at many locations; Cowbirds only near the Visitor's Center
