I observed eight male woodcock displaying Friday evening, March 14 at Blues Creek Preserve on Fontanelle Road just north of Ostrander and SR 36 and west of Delaware. I was able to get within about 10 feet of one male Woodcock who was doing his dance and then began probing and eating worms. Stood and watched him for about 10 minutes. Very cool! Spring is upon us.
