I started to head up to Euclid this morning and decided to go through the Cuyahoga County Airport in Richmond Hts.  Not seeing anything there I turned down Bishop Rd and went to Aberdeen Business Park on Golfview Ln.  I hadn't seen any snipe there last weekend but thought since they were being seen I might see some.  As I was walking across the wet field to the south one flew up and relanded in the grass.  As I was starting to walk that way I heard that barking dogs sound and TUNDRA SWANS were flying in from the east over my head and flying west-northwest.  The first group had 48 around 10:55am.  Then around 11:15am another group of 25 flew in from the same direction as the last group.  These birds probably go over the county airport which is where I was last weekend when I saw them.  There is definitely a flight path going through here.  Also saw group of five Northern Shovelers flying out from the lake in the housing development/golf
course lake just to the south of this area.  I didn't really want to climb up the elevated mounds of dirt to look over there so I drove over to the Aberdeen development off of Aberdeen Blvd off of Bishop Rd. The small elongated lake had approx. 15 Hooded Mergansers, one American Wigeon, four Redheads, Horned Grebe.

The business park in Euclid across from Euclid Square Mall on E. 260th St. has at least 25-30 Killdeer in the fields.  Also seen two Eastern Meadowlarks.  A bird flew in making a chip call and I watched it land in the field near the road just east of the new bldg. and it was only one Horned Lark.  I saw approx. 19 Turkey Vultures there between 12:30 to 1:20pm.  One group of 6 and a group of 4 all heading east.  Two Red-tailed Hawks always seem to be at the far east end of the park.

I did  go to Sims Park in Euclid from 1:40 to 3:10pm.  While I missed the bulk of all the duck activity  seen on the lake today when I arrived I did see some nice groups of Scaup flying west and small amounts of Red-breasted Mergansers flying west. There was a lot of open water to the east of the pier.  In the water it had numerous Red-breasted Mergansers (only a few Common Mergansers) over 56 Common Goldeneye, counted at least 63 Bufflehead (never seen that many here) single Hooded Merganser and lots of gulls, Great Blue Heron, over 60 Scaup in the water and more had been flying west.  Also 14 Song Sparrows in the park.
