The first two pectoral sandpipers of the season were at Frohring Meadows this morning.
Hunkered down in the grass edge of the wetland, along with a killdeer and a handful of
snipe.
Still two female buffleheads, joined by one female hooded merganser.
Lots of TVs on the move this morning, and hawks were in the air. A pair of Coopers and, I think,
one sharp shinned circled over the marsh, and one red tail hawk made an appearance.
A meadowlark was belting out it's beautiful song, from a perch in one of the little trees by the pavillion.
Also a first tree swallow has returned, already looking at the promising boxes. (Though
a house sparrow seemed well ahead in claiming a box.)
