With open water presently rather limited at northern Ohio, a check of
Castalia pond on a regular basis could prove rewarding, i. e. Eurasian
wigeon there Feb. 27.
I spoke with ice fishermen at Clear Fork reservoir recently who told me the
ice there is 14 inches thick. Hopefully the reservoir will thaw out before
water bird migration is over.
Good birding,
John Herman
