Ryan Golterman and I birded today at Mosquito L. causeway and at Cleveland (lower Cuyahoga River and E. 72nd St.).  There are still good numbers and variety of ducks at Mosquito L., including: gadwall, Am. wigeon, Am. black ducks, n. pintails, 75 canvasbacks, 300 redheads, ring-necked duck, lesser scaups, 11 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, buffleheads, c. goldeneyes, common mergansers, and red-breasted mergansers.  From there we went up to Cleveland to check out the lower Cuyahoga River, at Scranton Flats and Merwin St.  Found there: canvasbacks, redheads, 2 ring-necked ducks, lesser scaups, a male WHITE-WINGED SCOTER (at Scranton Flats), buffleheads, red-breasted mergansers (hundreds), 2 ruddy ducks, and Am. coots.  We couldn't find any white-winged gulls there.  Our last stop was at E. 72nd St. on the lakefront.  There was quite a bit of open water offshore there; seen were Am. black ducks, canvasback, common mergansers, red-breasted mergansers, and great
black-backed gulls.  Craig Holt, Poland Twp., Mahoning Co.
