I headed east this morning without my scope. I don't think I missed a red-necked grebe, but with the overcast conditions it is possible.

Berlin had the most substantial opening south of Price St NE. The area by the dam, off Bonner Rd, is the most reliable spot I know of for wintering cedar waxwings. Eight rusty blackbirds were foraging in the grass with a flock of robins.

Pointview Ave at Lake. Milton was productive today. Water is still low, and the river was free of ice. Eleven tundra swans were resting with the divers. A small crabapple at the corner of Heston, covered with poison ivy, hosted a flicker, a few bluebirds, and 18(!) yellow-rumped warblers.
