No red-necked grebes to add. Good variety remains at East Reservoir, where goldeneyes are busily courting, and Turkeyfoot Lake. About noon, a sandhill crane flew over, heading east. About an hour later, a great horned owl called from a stand of Norway spruces. It sounded close, a little too close. Titmice singing everywhere, all day.

Peace,
Gregory Bennett
