A brilliant male Eurasian Wigeon was present at the Mohawk dam late
afternoon Saturday March 1. The waterfowl show here is colorful; pintails,
ring-necks, Gadwall, both wigeon, Canvasback, and more! Park at the dam
tower access lane gate and walk a short distance to the tower overlook. Sort
through a thousand ducks on shallow open water near the dam and along the
river. Margaret Bowman reported this bird spending time upsteam of the dam,
so mud shoes and perseverance may be needed. Bring a scope! This location
may difficult to approach if the weather gets ugly.

Jackie and I joined two other vehicles to canvas the Raven location near
College Hill Road until nightfall, but no joy.
