Greetings Fellow Birders,

Yesterday, a room full of birders were visibly moved by an excellent film, “The Lost Bird Project.” You will want to encourage your friends and bird-centric organizations to watch this film as well.

Thank you to the Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland, the Kirtland Bird Club and the Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society for combining efforts for the marvelous program, "The Lost Bird Project" and Saving Species, held at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. They proved that you get a full house of engaged bird watchers to attend conservation program!

Too often the false statement is said, “bird watchers want to pursue birds, and do not care about conservation.” Bird watchers do care and can be motived to help protect species and habitats.

Congratulations to the Cleveland Area birders for being proactive and to Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Black Swamp Bird Observatory, Western Reserve Land Conservancy and Global Conservation Connections.

And to keep this post legit, Scranton Flats held a dazzling array of waterfowl and gulls yesterday. Most memorable were the the Pomarine Jaeger and an Iceland Gull.

Thank you Cleveland for being conservation leaders!
