I had a late northern shrike this afternoon at Lake Erie Bluffs Metropark in Lake County. Also of note there were American bittern, merlin and several Wilson's snipe. They were in the wet fields south of the Clark Road parking lot. The shrike was about a quarter mile south of the lot. There are no trails in this area and rubber knee boots are a must. For directions go to www.lakemetroparks.com .
