I birded a variety of locations in this NW Columbus suburb this morning, starting at Sawmill Wetlands & Kiwanis Park, then working up the Scioto Gorge to the O'Shaughnessy dam, then over to Glacier Ridge area. Water level in the Scioto River was very high, essentially wahing away any chance for unusual waterfowl, though there was a flock of 30 cormorants above the dam. Lake Corazon was also dead, but the Honda wetlands had small groups of Shovelers, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, and Bufflehead. Landbirds were still in early temperate migrant mode, with notables being:

Red-headed Woodpecker - a single bird was calling in the woodlot southeast of the parking area at Glacier Ridge
Sapsuckers - singles at almost every stop, including Sawmill wetlands
Brown Creepers - mostly in the riparian woods along the river
Golden-cr.Kinglets - at nearly every stop, but never more than a few.
E.Bluebirds - pairs in many locations prospecting for boxes or tree cavities
Yellow-rumped Warblers - the first honest-to-goodness flocks, with 10 at Kozcuiscko Park and at Glacier Ridge
Tree Sparrows - still a few around the north loop at Glacier Ridge
Field Sparrows - singing singles and pairs at several different locations, especially at Glacier Ridge
Fox Sparrows - singles were at Kozcuiscko Park and Glacier Ridge
Juncos - still little flocks in many locations, often with singing birds
E.Meadowlarks - 3-4 were calling at Glacier Ridge and at the Honda wetlands
Redwing Blackbirds - widespread
Rusty Blackbirds - not a one, despite being around vernal pools at Swamill, Glacier Ridge, and Trabue Preserve.
