I visited nearby to home Berlin Lake this morning, from about 7AM to about 8AM. No loons of any type were found at the US224 Causeway Area over Berlin Lake where they were yesterday. Apparently they moved out last night. The only birds of note were an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull (photo taken), and 30+ Ruddy Ducks off the end of the public boat ramps on Bonner Road going toward the dam. The Osprey pair at the northeast corner of the US224 Causeway were busy at their tower nest. Of note, at the end of last season there were at least eight active Osprey nests to be found in the Berlin Lake Area (Mahoning, Portage, and Stark Counties).

Bob Lane / Mahoning County
