Saturday evening I heard the sound I was waiting for....through the spring peepers and toads calling at full volume I had to pause and make sure. Whip-poor-will! Something stopped the peepers and I could hear it clearly. Yesterday, I had my first Prairie Warbler and this morning there was an Ovenbird singing from the woods and a White eyed Vireo out in the old field. When I got to work on the Ohio River near Racine, there is an active Osprey nest visible right across the river on the Mountaineer Power Plant grounds in New Haven, WV.

Also saw Zebra Swallowtail, Falcate Orangetip, Spring Azure and swarm of Grapevine Epimenis flitting about in the driveway this weekend.
