This morning my wife Jane and I were taking our usual daily hike around the
property, over the hilltop pasture and circling around the forested
ravines. As we passed "Valhalla Falls," a 3-foot cascade in our deepest
ravine, I remarked, Louisiana waterthrushes should arrive any day now."

I like days when the magic works. Right on cue, I heard the beautiful
lilting song of the waterthrush. Springtime has now officially arrived.
First warbler of the season...
