Another chilly ride in Cuyahoga County along the Rocky River.

While cruising south on the road,
a plaintive call stopped me in my tracks. I made my way into the woods and came upon a small run.
The call was very close so I scanned the trees above. I finally spotted the singer, a gorgeous Louisiana Waterthrush. Nice.

A bit further south near the large swamp on the east side of the road, I heard a Northern Waterthrush call. Doubly nice.

Other birds of note included a calling blue headed vireo, lots of blue gray gnatcatchers, and the usual birds for this time of year.

See you on the trails,
Chris Pierce
