A late report, but we had our first Wood Thrush of the year in Kirtland on
Sunday. This is right on time by the calendar.


It is said Wood Thrush populations have declined by 50% in the past 40
years, but that is not evident here.  While there is variation year to year
they are common anywhere there is complete canopy in our forests.
