I was at Conneaut harbor this morning for a couple hours. I wanted to get
in and out early because I knew there'd be a lot of people and there were.
When I got there I had two killdeer and that was it. What shorebirds did
drop in, didn't stay long. The people didn't bother them, they just seemed
to be in a hurry.
I had 6 whimbrels fly by early. They circled the west breakwall, but never
landed. The laughing gull flew by and landed with the gulls at the west end
of the breakwall while I was on the east side. I drove over to where it
landed and never was able to relocate it. Other birds seen were 1 least
bittern, 1 black-bellied plover, 7 semipalmated plovers, 9 semipalmated
sandpipers, 3 dunlin, 1 osprey, and a late Caspian tern.
