Two Piping Plovers were found near Lost Bridge, in Hamilton County, this
afternoon, and I was able to refind them at 8 p.m., along with Kathy
McDonald and several other birders. They were originally found earlier this
afternoon by Evan Dalton and Bill Buskirk.

Lost Bridge is the bridge over the Great Miami River on Lawrenceburg Road.
The birds were at the end of a sand spit which extends out into a shallow
pond, on the south side of Lawrenceburg Road, just west of Lost Bridge. To
reach this spot, take I-275 to the west side of Cincinnati, exit at Kilby
Road, and go south. At the end of Kilby, turn right onto U.S. 50, then left
at the next light onto Lawrenceburg Road. Although the sand spit seems
quite low, it is tall enough to hide the birds if they are on the back side.
