I arrived at "The Conneaut Sandspit" in Ashtabula County, on the shore of Lake Erie, at 7:02AM this morning, Friday. A perfect Conneaut birding day; rain and 48 degrees. The access gate and road to "The Sandspit" was open. On the sandbar to the left, as you approach the main sandspit, I was greeted by 178+ Caspian Terns, 4 Willets, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, and 2 American Golden-Plovers. 18 Turkey Vultures are also hanging out on the beach. Red-breasted Mergansers are in the harbor. It is presently 7:45AM, and all the celebrity visitors are still here.
