We birded Weise Road in Galena this morning under cloudy skies with occasional light rain. Each time the rain let up and the sun popped out so did the birds. Of course we had my Prothonotary Warblers and they were joined by Nashville, Northern Parula, Yellow, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Blue, Yellow-rumped, Blackpoll, American Redstart and Wilson's Warblers. In all we had 10 species of warblers with the American Redstarts being the most common. Overall numbers were low to moderate.

Other birds of note along the road included Warbling Vireo, Cedar Waxwing, Brown Thrasher, Veery, Scarlet Tanager, Baltimore Oriole and Red-headed Woodpecker.

From the road one can see Double-crested Cormorants, Osprey and terns over the reservoir.

Cliff Swallows are nesting under the bridge into Galena.
