ATTENTION Birders who want to pay it forward.........I am a teacher in inner-city Cleveland and have for the past 20+ years included 4-5 students on an Audubon Spring Walk. It has always been a highlight day for me and in my continued contact with many of the participants, they continually bring up great memories of the day. My challenge to all of you out there is to find a way to reach out to a local group of kids that are not directly connected to you and find a way to get ...them into birds. You all know at least one teacher, use them as a contact to reach into Elementary or Middle Schools for the next generation of birders.......start a Young Birders club at the school, after school programs (especially in economically challenged areas) are greatly needed and appreciated. The kids are seldom exposed to wildlife and nature and soak it up........need help, contact me.
