Haans made a comment about "the rather expansive park" where the chats were found. The 592 acre Bluffs did cost 11 million dollars, but 10 million were paid for with various grants. The link to the PDF below explains a bit about what is at the park, what is planned, and how it was funded. I guarantee you'll never see this much land along the lakefront on Lake County ever available. It provides so much critical habitat for breeding and migrating birds and other wildlife. In March I even saw a bobcat there. It has some graveled trails currently and more trails will be finished later this year. If you're in the area it is an incredible birding area. I found the Kirtland's there last week. If you want to explore bring your rubber boots, its wet but worth it.
