I stopped at 2 sites along Alum Creek in north Columbus this morning, and had quite a few early migrants. The first waves of Neotropicals washed in in earnest, with most of the expected early migrants except Wood Pewees & Tanagers. I stopped at Innis Park and Tanager Woods, each for about an hour, and had small flocks of noisy migrants most of the time I was out. The list included

Ruby-thr.Hummingbirds - 2
Least Flycatchers - 2
Acadian Flycatchers - 2
Crested Flycatchers - 2
Yellow-thr.Vireos - 3
Blue-headed Vireos - 2
White-eyed Vireo - 1
Red-eyed Vireo - 1
Ruby-cr.Kinglets - 8
Swainson's Thrush - 2
Wood Thrush - 4
Gray Catbirds - 18+
YellowWarblers - 3
Parula Warblers - 3
Nashville Warblers - 20
Tennessee Warbler - 1
Chesnut-sidedWarbler - 1
Black-thr.Greens - 7
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 25+
Blackburnian Warblers - 3
Yellow-thr.Warblers - 3
Pine Warblers - 2
Black&White Warbler - 1
Ovenbirds - 4
IndigoBuntings - 2 (at Innis)
Rose-br,Grosbeaks - 4
Swamp Sparrows - 2 (near Tanager Woods)
White-thr.Sparrows - 20+
Baltimore Orioles - 5 (all singing males)
Orchard Oriole - 1

A later hike along Walnut Creek at Woodside Green in Gahanna found most of the same species in similar numbers, with the addition of E.Kingbirds, Magnolia Warbler, Palm Warblers (4), and N.Waterthrush. I didn't see the orange-throated Nashville, but it was likely the peak day for Nashvilles, since I had 32+ in the 3 hours I was afield.
