Right where Route 90 crosses the Cuyahoga River (near Progressive Field) I had a flock of ~12 Double-crested Cormorants flying south along the river at ~7:30pm. As I was approaching the flock while driving the freeway I observed that the third one from the end was noticeably smaller than all the others. I was able to see it's right profile, directly behind the bird and then looking back over my shoulder the left profile views - in all it could easily be picked out from the flock on small size alone.

I have seen plenty of Neotropical Cormorants in NM, TX and Costa Rica, so I am familiar with the species, but on this sighting along I wouldn't make the call, but be highly suspect.

For possible chasers, I believe the birds were flying up the river to roost for the night.
