I biked & hiked several areas west of Columbus, including the Darby Be4nd Lakes & the Coneflower Trail at Prairie Oaks MetroPark, as well as Heritage Park & the Spindler-Frank Parks bikepath. Only fragments of frest here, so the day was highlighted by field birds, including

Bell's Vireo - the bird remains along the bikepath at the west end of Heritage Park, just beyond where the bridle trail joins it.

Willow Flycatchers - widespread, with 1-2 at virtually every stop I made

CommonYellowthroat - also widespread, but abundant at PrairieOaks with 20+ in 2 hours

Field Sparrows - also widespread, with most at Prairie Oaks (26/2 hr)

Orchard Orioles - 4 at Prairie Oaks (with 3 at Darby bend Lakes), with other singles at the North Canoe access and at Heritage Park

Yellow-billed Cuckoo - a pair were calling back & forth at the North Canoe Access of Prairie Oaks

Herons - a Great Egret was along the Spindler-Frank bikepath, while a Green Heron was at the Prairie Oaks wetlands off the Coneflower Trail.
