Greetings all -
Local Patch pelagic trip dates are set for September 2014 and registration is officially open.... and I wish the trips started tomorrow. ALL details can be found here**: http://www.jenbrumfield.com/?page_id=1775
Or go to www.jenbrumfield.com and find "Pelagics 2014" under "Local Patch Birding Tours Main Page."
Dates: September 6, 21, 27th. All trips depart out of Vermilion, Ohio on a Port-Clinton-based accredited charter boat. These adventurous trips cover 50+ miles of open Lake Erie offshore Huron/Vermilion/Lorain and go upwards of 15 miles from shore, seeking Long-tailed and Parasitic Jaegers and Sabine's Gulls and other rarities (plus scads of Black, Common and Forster's Terns). Highlights from 14 boat trips have included point-blank Parasitic and Pomarine Jaegers and mind-numbing looks at Sabine's Gulls, plus Franklin's and Laughing Gulls, and on past November trips, masses of grebes and loons. Gabe Leidy, Jerry Talkington, and Vic Fazio are guides. It's so addicting that the Canadians are copying us this year on the north shore of Erie!
Best of birding-Jen
