Subject: [Ohio-birds] Strange Robin Behavior

Just saw a robin snuggle down on the ground at the edge of the grass and the mowed are around a new tree in my backyard. Once comfortable it spread out both of its wings and just lay there closing its eyes. I watched thinking it might be injured then after about 5 minutes went in to get my Binocs. It seemed healthy enough and was opening its eyes. I thought I really needed a picture of this and went back in for my camera. When I started walking closer it flew away, landed in a neighbor's tree and started singing apparently feeling just fine. It is a beautiful day here in Dayton. Is it possible this bird was sun bathing?
