I stopped at Scioto Audubon this morning, among other spots around downtown Columbus, and had some fairly good summer birds.  Water levels in the river were very high, so waterbirding was a bust.  Highlights included:

Blue Grosbeak - a first year male was singing in the meadow west of the boardwalk pond.  Listen for the rolling song to distinguish him from the many Indigo Buntings.  Also, he's not very blue, with mostly gray head & back.

Yellow-billed Cuckoo - at least one was singing on the wooded peninsula across from the bikepath

Warblers - at least 2 Prothonotary Warblers were singing in the same wooded peninsula across from the bikepath (south of the Audubon center.  There was also a Yellow-throated Warbler a bit further north along the riverside bikepath, and 2 more were at Sullivant trace on the Hilltop west of downtown.  Another was at Long St. Dam, along with a stray singing Black&White.

Orchard Orioles - 2 different birds were singing in the meadows north of the Audubon Center, and another bird was around the Dog Park parking area.  I also had them at Sullivant Trace, near the ODOT buildings on the hilltop.
