Several additions to Rob Thorn's report from the Hoover Nature Preserve -

At 11:00 AM there were 7 Herring Gulls perched at the end of the boardwalk

The Osprey on platforms #1 and #2 are doing well. Adult viewed bring a fish into platform #2.

The Bald Eagles nesting along the east shore are almost ready to fledge. The eaglets are as big as the parents.

Cliff Swallows are nesting under almost every bridge at Hoover Reservoir. The best colony is at the Twin Bridges Boat launch.

Red-headed Woodpeckers are present in most areas of the preserve. Easiest to locate are at the end of the old road in Area N in Galena.

Along Big Walnut Creek Northern Parula, Yellow-throated and Prothonotary Warblers are beginning to feed fledglings.

Prothonotary Warblers are enjoying a banner year. Confirmed nest sites are in triple digits.
