To anyone interested, this morning I seen 1 female common merganser with 6 babies in Conneaut Harbor near the sandbar. This is the second year in a row I have seen a female with young here. I am by no means an expert but have been told by Bob and Denise Lane as well as others from last years sightings that it is rare to have breeding common mergansers in Ohio. So I figured I better make the report so it could be documented.

Happy birding!
Chris Swan
