Grassland birds were out this morning at Tri-Valley Wildlife Area in
Muskingum County. We were able to add 4 new bird species to our 2014 "year"
list:
Northern Bobwhite  - 1 (heard calling)
Blue Grosbeak - 1
Henslow's Sparrow - 10
Grasshopper Sparrow -3
We also observed many Common Yellowthroats (over 50), Yellow Warblers,
Prairie Warblers, Yellow-breasted Chat (6), Ovenbirds (2), and a Hooded
Warbler. We saw a total of 49 species here this morning. Great way to spend
a sunny, hot Saturday.
