I pulled into Punderson State Park picnic area parking to make a phone call and directly in front of me in 2 oak trees were at least 2 Red-Headed Woodpeckers. I clearly saw two but there seemed to be activity among the leaves that I couldn’t see. I have never seen them in Geauga County before so it was very cool. To see them, park in the picnic area parking on the east side of the lot(near the playground equipment) and look straight ahead at the oaks.
