I was told by some Rail experts while at Anuahac NWR in Texas that Yellow Rails never call outside of their nesting territory.  That’s why you never here them in Texas even though during the winter there are lots of them there.

Now I’m not a Rail expert, so if anyone knowledgeable can comment on this diagnostic it would help us all out.
