Saturday, Sept. 6 - 8 to 11 a.m.

What a beautiful morning to be birding.. The red-shouldered and Coopers
hawks put on quite a display for us at the north end of the lake. The
red-shoulders seemed to be somewhat perturbed at the Coopers invading their
territory. The gulls and terns flew in and great looks were seen through our
scope. Species seen include:

Bald eagles - 2 adults
Great egrets - 14
Great blue herons - many, many
Green-backed herons - 5
Lesser yellowlegs - 8
Greater yellowlegs - 2
Spotted sp
Least sp - 3
DC cormorants - 3
Ring-billed gulls
Bonaparte's gulls
Forsters terns
Caspian tern - 1
Belted kingfishers - 5
Wood ducks - many
Canada geese - too many
Mallards
Coopers hawks - 2
Red-shouldered hawks - at least 2
Turkey vultures - 5

Good birding,
Ed and Bev Neubauer, Dean Porter, many others who enjoyed the sightings
