I checked out the beach and dam today and found an end of season
Black-belllied Plover on the beach along with several Killdeer, and
Ring-billed and Bonaparte's Gulls. On the lake were Horned Grebes,
Pied-billed Grebe, several Common Loons, Gadwall, Green-winged Teal, Ruddy
Ducks, 3 Hooded Mergansers, and two Northern Shovelers. Also saw 2 Black
Vultures and a Northern Harrier. All along the country roads were Horned
Larks in abundance. Several Am. Kestrels seen along the way.
