I took a walk this morning at 10:30 am at the Polo Field. The row of big pine trees in the middle of that open area has been a good spot to find birds in the past. Today I saw two American Pipits foraging on the ground where the wind had cleared the ground of snow at the base of the trees. The birds would fly from tree to tree first perching on low branches before going to the ground. I was able to walk parallel to the row of trees at a distance and watch them bob their tails and look around for food on the ground. They didn't seem bothered by the cold wind and cold temps at all.
