It was our third really cold windy day with no ferries on the islands. Waterfowl were not deterred on South Bass Island-tundra swans, horned grebes, pied-billed grebe, hooded and red-breasted mergansers, greater and lesser scaup, bufflehead, redheads, mallards, black ducks and a few golden eye were found in large rafts. A single pied billed grebe was at the pond.

A ride out to the Lime Kiln dock produced American Pipits landing for short periods of time on the ground in the wind and then off again.
