I biked stretches of the Blacklick Creek Greenway, as well as parts of Walnut Woods MetroPark, looking for late migrants or strays. Most of the ponds, even Cruiser Lake & Lake Winchester, remain frozen, so waterfowl were scarce. The bikepath traverse many old farm fields, now growing up into honeysuckle copses and weed-patches. The result was a steady stream of small flocks of Robins, waxwings, and sparrows; in a bit over 2 hours, I had

Robins - 300+
Mockingbird - 1
Cedar Waxwings - 40+
Tree Sparrows - 5
Field Sparrows - 2 (at Chatterton Greenbelt, a reliable wintering spot)
Swamp Sparrows - 5
Song Sparrows - 50+
Fox Sparrows - 5 (including 4 in the sparrowfields south of Winchester Lake)
White-crowned Sparrows - 4
White-throated Sparrows - 75+
Juncos - 10
Redwinged Blackbirds - 70+ flying south early
