I had two Short-eared Owls at Battelle Darby Creek this morning. I parked in the lot for the Wet Plains Trails (39.915073, -83.210384) at 6:40 AM and saw the birds within 5 minutes, soaring and diving like Harriers. At one point they were both within 15 feet of my car. I had to leave for work at about 7:15, and at that point there was already a Harrier out hunting the fields. From what I've seen before, the two species are usually active at the same time for about an hour. Good luck!
