NOVEMBER 01, 2014 - Cuyahoga Valley National Park & Metro Parks, Serving Summit County Monthly Towpath Trail Census.


HIKE: Red Lock Trailhead south to Merriman Valley. TIME: 7:45am-4:45pm TEMP.: 39-40-37 COND.: Gray & overcast with

intermittent mist/light sprinkles; steady light drizzle from 1:45pm-2:55pm; rain ending & becoming partly cloudy with some sun.

FT.MI.: 13.0 OBS.: John Henry & Douglas W. Vogus.

I. MAMMALS: 7 SPECIES.

   - Mink - 2 (New Census High - previous was 1 on 04/2013, 06/2013 & 03/2014)
   - Eastern Chipmunk - 3
   - Eastern Gray Squirrel - 4 (2 black morph)
   - Eastern Fox Squirrel - 5
   - Red Squirrel - 12
   - Muskrat - 1
   - White-tailed Deer - 3 (doe)
