Fellow birders,

     Headed to the "Perry County Wilds" this afternoon, the reclaimed strip
mine area near New Lexington (Rehoboth) to look for Shrikes.  Was
pleasantly surprised to find one, possibly two Short-eared Owls.  This will
be the fourth winter they have been found there.  Happy they are back. I
believer this is the earliest we have seen them.
     Also saw one, possibly three Northern Harriers, two Red tailed hawks,
and one Red-shoildered Hawk.  No shrikes.
